The City of Toledo is sponsoring the last free disposal day of 2024 at the Hoffman Road Landfill for Lucas County residents on Saturday, November 30, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Residents will be permitted to bring a truck or trailer of bulky solid waste items for free, subject to terms and conditions. A valid driver’s license will be required to verify proof of residency. Free disposal days are for residents only, not commercial businesses.
Acceptable bulky waste items include excess trash, furniture, carpeting, mattresses, wood waste and scrap metal.
Items not accepted include yard waste, barrels and drums of any kind, chemicals, liquid waste, paint, oil, asbestos, mercury, medical waste, flammable materials, propane tanks, hazardous waste, toxic materials, corrosive or caustic materials, poisonous materials, lead acid batteries, televisions or monitors, nor items containing Freon. Tires and boats can only be accepted with a fee.
Residents must enter the landfill via Manhattan Boulevard. No entry will be permitted from Matzinger/ Schwartz Roads.
City employees will be on-site to verify residency. You will be responsible to unload your own vehicle. No manpower or equipment will be available for assistance. The city reserves the right to refuse any loads that are deemed to be unfit. The city is not responsible for any damage to vehicles, including flat tires.
