Galileo’s second book resides in Perrysburg

By Kate Oatis

Bo Butler, manager of the Northwest Ohio Regional Book Depository on North Wilkinson Way in Levis Commons, removed the book from its container, gingerly opening it to show to the 10 people taking a tour.

“This is the oldest book we have. It was published in 1655–and it’s by Galileo. It’s his second book, the one he wrote after the one that got him in trouble with the Catholic Church.”

Before showing the group that gem, Mr. Butler had opened a box and pulled out a script of the September 12, 1974, episode of the soap opera “Another World.”

Both items delighted the group during a tour arranged by Natalie Dielman, programming specialist for Way Library.
