Residents learn how to drive the new diverging diamond interchange

“The basic thing is how do you drive a diverging diamond interchange (DDI)? How is it going to change? How is it different from anything we have seen in northwest Ohio?” said Michael Stormer, ODOT District 2 project engineer for the DDI.

Last week at Perrysburg Municipal Building, more than 75 people attended an informational meeting on how to drive the interchange at State Route 25 and I-475 and its benefits to the community.

Mr. Stormer explained that on the DDI arterial, traffic crosses over to the left side of the roadway between the nodes of the interchange and two-phase traffic signals are installed at the crossovers. (see diagram)
