Cannaley Treehouse Village opens

Those who could only dream of sleeping among the trees will now have the opportunity to do just that with the opening of Cannaley Treehouse Village at the Beach Ridge Area of Oak Openings Park on State Route 64 near Swanton.

Metroparks Toledo recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the $1.5 million village, which was built using individual and corporate donations raised by the Metroparks Toledo Foundation.

More than 50 people attended the opening, welcomed by Executive Director Dave Zenk. “Who said we couldn’t hold a ribbon-cutting in a time of social distancing?” he said, commending visitors for following mask and social distancing protocols at the outdoor event.
