Mustard Seed drive-thru event raises funds and food

Mustard Seed, a Point Place/Shoreland-based community food bank, recently raised $6,000 in donations and stocked its pantries after holding a unique event.

For 15 years, a Mustard Seed Walk fundraiser was held during Point Place Days.

With businesses shut down and stay-at-home orders throughout the spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the nonprofit’s committee was not comfortable seeking sponsors.

Additionally, church services, schools and the Point Place Business Association, typical donation sources and food collection hosts, were only meeting online. Donations were down.
