Penta to begin using solar energy this fall

Penta Career Center has attracted attention for more than a decade from passersby on I-75 who can’t help but notice the large educational institution at the Buck Road exit.

But lately it is garnering interest for another reason—a sprawling seven-acre solar panel field that is highly visible from the interstate.

By the beginning of the 2020-21 school year, 3,100 panels will be in operation, supplying the career center with nearly 60 percent of its electricity needs.
