Recreation levy increase discussed

Two property tax levies supporting city recreation programs will expire this year, and Rossford officials are discussing an increase in one.

The parks and recreation committee is reviewing finances with Toby Ledesma, parks and recreation director.

“The board discussed that they would like to see an increase in the asking amount for the operational levy,” Council President Larry Oberdorf said at the January 28 meeting of Rossford City Council.

Property owners currently are paying two five-year 0.43-mill levies–one dedicated to operations and the other to capital improvements.
