Wood Co. airport receives $1.7M grant
Crowded air traffic at the Wood County Regional Airport should be alleviated by the end of this year with the addition of two new taxiways, funded by a $1.7 million federal grant.
U.S. Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao announced last week that more than $1.2 billion in airport safety and infrastructure grants will be awarded through the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to 405 airports across all 50 states, as well as six U.S. territories.
“This $1.2 billion federal investment will improve our nation’s airport infrastructure, enhance safety and strengthen growth in local communities, which is especially important as the economy recovers from COVID-19,” Ms. Chao said.
