Dallas Allen
Springfield High School baseball player Dallas Allen had a great week both offensively and on the mound.
He hit .429 in four games helping the Blue Devils go 3-1 for the week. He had four doubles and four RBIs.
On the mound, he went 1-0 and pitched eight and one-third innings giving up zero earned runs, striking out eight and walking only one. He threw a complete game, five hit shutout against Fremont Ross.
“Dallas has emerged into the role of the number one pitcher while playing on varsity since he was a freshman. He has been very consistent on the mound his last few outings. One thing I like about Dallas is that he will compete. Nothing really phases him. We feel like we have a great chance to win when he is on the mound. He is a great kid who just loves baseball. Dallas exemplifies a true student athlete. He plays three sports and is an excellent student. [He’s a] quality young man and comes from a great family,” said Coach Dave Whitmire.
