The seventh and eighth grade cross country team is led by first year coach Eleanor Kosek. They competed in the Northern Lakes League championships on October 2, at Whiteford Valley Golf Course. Anna Taylor placed 17th, competing against nearly 100 other athletes. Jacob Franks and Tayler Tanberg both finished in the top 30 out of 99 runners.
The girls’ volleyball program is prepping for the fall tournament, and at the time of this article the tournament had not started. The seventh grade girls, coached by Michael Townsend, continue to progress as the bulk of their team is made up of first time players. The eighth grade girls are in the middle of the pack of the NLL looking to improve their seeding as they wind down the regular season.
In football, the eighth grade boys are coached by Brad Davis and Josh Pawlowsk and finished fifth in their division. Their crossover game is set to be with Fremont Ross and they will wrap up their season with a game on Sunday, October 15, against St. Joseph. The seventh grade team, coached by Tony Scott and Jamie Hesselbein, placed second in their division and will play a crossover game with Perrysburg to determine third place overall in the NLL. Their last game also is Sunday, October 15 against St. Joseph.
The cheer team is coached by Kayla Watkins, and continues to support fall athletes and will continue this into the winter season as they perfect their routines. Their last fall efforts took place October 10 in the seventh grade crossover game against Perrysburg.
