Springfield Schools ‘Wicked Wheels’ car fest set for August 4

Springfield Local Schools invites the community to the annual Blue Devils Wicked Wheels Car Fest on Wednesday, August 4, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the high school parking lot, 1470 South McCord Road.

In addition to the Journal, this year’s car show is sponsored by White Family Dealerships, Elizabeth Scott Community, Glass City Federal Credit Union, Paramount, Walmart, Sam’s Club, Scott Stigall Agency, Hagerty, Renhill Group, Clarios, the Andersons, Springfield Area Prevention Coalition, UPS, Velocity, the Countertop Shop, Yoder Machinery, 97.7 FM/WNLB, WTOL, Buckeye Broadband and K-100.

Free and open to the public, the event will feature raffles, music, food trucks, children’s play area, live entertainment and driving simulators. Race car driver Collin Shipley will be on hand to meet with visitors.

Car owners are encouraged to bring their vintage, classic, hot rod and muscle cars to compete for trophies in eight prize categories.

For participants, the cost to enter is $5 per car with proceeds going toward health, safety, leadership and character initiatives at Springfield Schools and to provide creative innovative classroom instruction.
