The American Red Cross is seeking blood donors to help prevent a seasonal blood shortage. Platelet donors are especially needed now. All who schedule to donate during August will be entered for a chance to win gas for a year, a $6,000 value. There will be three winners.
Everyone who donates blood or platelets in August will receive a $10 e-gift card to a merchant of choice. Details available at rcblood.org/fuel.
A blood drive will be held August 26, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 102.3 Proclaim FM, 7112 Angola Road, Holland.
Appointments also can be scheduled to donate blood at the Red Cross Toledo Blood Donation Center, 3510 Executive Parkway, Toledo. Hours are Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
