An ecumenical coalition of local peace and justice advocates will continue the annual praying of the Social Justice Stations of the Cross on Good Friday, April 7, at noon.
Those attending should gather on the front steps of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 428 North Erie Street, Toledo.
The group will walk on the sidewalk around the courthouse, stopping for a short prayer at each of the 14 stations and return to St. Paul’s.
The Stations of the Cross have a long and varied history as a means of meditating in a spiritual pilgrimage commemorating Jesus’ nonviolent resistance to oppression, leading to his crucifixion and death.
The ecumenical prayer will focus on current social justice issues linked to each station.
