Archie Griffin to speak at Bulldog Foundation dinner October 28

The Bulldog Foundation is planning this year’s Building Futures Extravaganza on Thursday, October 28.

The fund-raising dinner at the Hilton Garden Inn in Perrysburg will feature guest speaker Archie Griffin, twotime Heisman Trophy winner and three-time Ohio State University All American.

The public is invited to attend the event at Hilton Garden Inn in Levis Commons, Perrysburg.

Tickets are $100 each or a table of 10 for $800. Reservations are due by Monday, October 18.

For tickets and more information, visit the Bulldog Foundation website at the bulldogfoundation.org.

VIP sponsors also are being sought, and they will have the opportunity to meet with Mr. Griffin and have a photo taken before the dinner.

A VIP ticket is $250, and individuals who already purchased a ticket may upgrade by paying the difference of $150.

The VIP reception begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by cocktail hour at 6:30, and the dinner and program is at 7:15 p.m.

As the only two-time winner of the Heisman Trophy, Mr. Griffin is one of the alltime greats in college football.

A four-year starter at running back for Ohio State, his 5,589 rushing yards were at the time an NCAA record.

The Buckeyes won four consecutive Big 10 titles with Mr. Griffin in the backfield, and he became the first player to ever start in four Rose Bowls. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1986 and named the Rose Bowl’s All-Century Player in 2014.

In addition, Mr. Griffin won two Big 10 MVPs, two Walter Camp awards and the Maxwell Award.

He went on to be a first round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals in 1976 and play seven seasons with the team.

Mr. Griffin currently is the president and CEO of the Ohio State Alumni Association and a co-owner of Minor League Baseball’s Dayton Dragons.

Kent Murphree, president of the Bulldog Foundation board, believes Mr. Griffin will provide a dynamic message to those attending the fund-raising dinner.

“Archie is a legend in Ohio, and we believe he will be a great draw for the event,” Mr. Murphree explained. “Everyone who has heard him speak indicates that he is extremely inspirational.”
