Ballet Theatre of Toledo to hold winter open house

Ballet Theatre of Toledo (BTT) is opening its doors to prospective students and their families for its winter open house, from 5 to 7 p.m., on January 10, 11 and 13. The open house features a chance to observe classes, tour the facility, meet faculty, talk with current parents and hear about performance opportunities.

The theatre offers classes for boys and girls aged 3 1/2 through adult. Its mission is to inspire a life-long passion for ballet and the arts through technical training, artistic creativity and performing opportunities.

It is under the direction of Nigel Burgoine, recipient of a 2020 Ohio Governor’s Award for the Arts and a former principal dancer with the London Festival Ballet. Toledo’s own former prima ballerina, Anne Marie Getz, is the associate artistic director.

Students have the chance to perform throughout the year. In addition to Nutcracker, a holiday tradition in Toledo’s Valentine Theatre, it stages productions locally and at regional theaters.
