The Toledo Sail and Power Squadron will offer America’s Boating Course at two locations this year.
The program will be offered March 1 and 8, at Maumee River Yacht Club, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration starts at 8:15 a.m. There will be a 30-minute lunch break.
It also will be held April 5 and 12, at the Perrysburg Township Fire Department. The classes will run from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and registration starts at 8:15 a.m. Police/fire/EMTs will receive half off the cost of the class and materials for this program.
Ohio law requires that any person born after January 1, 1982, show proof of having taken a basic boating safety course if he or she operates a boat powered by a motor 10 HP or greater.
The class meets all Ohio and Michigan boating law requirements. It is recommended for ages 12 and older.

•State and Local Regulations (ODNR)
•Anchoring/ Knots and Lines
•Water Sport Safety The cost is $20 per person. The book, which costs $35, is recommended but is not mandatory. It can be shared by a family.
