Cheap and Chic event to benefit the Victory Center

Area residents who love to shop are invited to the Cheap and Chic shoppers event at the Lamson’s building, 600 Jefferson Avenue, Toledo on Saturday, March 9. Shopping hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and admission is $5.

Participating boutiques including Ragazza, Sophia Lustig, Vivian Kate, the Little Being, Meig, Fiddlesticks, Rialto Jean Project, Eden, Wear, Hip to the Groove and Pura Cashmere will be on hand, selling chic designs for “cheap money” all in support of the Victory Center.

Designer looks at bargain prices will be available for purchase from local boutiques who urge people to shop local.

“Where else can you see the best stores in northwest Ohio under one roof?” asked Pat Nowak, adding, “The Victory Center is pleased to host this annual event. Our collaboration here is just one more step in the community coming together to support the arts in northwest Ohio.”

Meredith Sherman of Sophia Lustig agrees, “The local retail community has a long history of supporting local non-profit organizations in Toledo–we believe by collaborating with nonprofit organizations, we can begin a long-term partnership raising money for a much-needed cause.”

Jane Wurth of Ragazza noted, “This event began after the economic downturn in 2009. Many of the local stores had purchased too much inventory and an idea was formed to develop a Cheap and Chic event. Most people love to shop and at that time they wanted a bargain. We combined the event, raising money for local charities, and this year, the event celebrates its annual project of helping the community.”
