Last month, Lucas County Children Services hosted a graduation parade for teens under agency care who graduated from high school or completed a GED program. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the traditional indoor ceremony could not be held so organizers elected to hold a parade.
“To ensure that the 10 Class of 2021 graduates got the recognition they deserve, we paraded around the block–Erie, Adams, Ontario and Madison streets,” said Robin Reese, executive director.
Each graduate was sponsored by childrenʼs services employees and members of the community and received gifts including a computer, household goods and gift cards.
