After a one-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Christ Child Society’s Red Wagon luncheon returned on October 12.
The luncheon and diaper drive took place at the Inverness Club, and the committee organizing the luncheon included the Class of 2020 and the Class of 2021.
“The event was a huge success,” said Dee Dillon, communications liaison.
“Members brought in 28,200 diapers meeting the group need of 57,000 diapers for their layette program.”
In addition to the diaper drive, a raffle, conducted by the newest members, raised $15.000 to assist in purchases needed to continue service to children in northwest Ohio.
Molly Fanning of Columbus, president of the National Christ Child Society, addressed local members and noted that the Toledo chapter is “energetic and innovative.”
During the luncheon, the coveted Red Wagon Award was presented to Anne Marie Blank, treasurer, who made significant contributions to the club this year.
