Commissioners, BGSU enter agreement for treatment center

At the October 25 meeting, the Lucas County commissioners agreed to enter into a professional services agreement with Bowling Green State University.

BGSU will provide evaluation services for the county juvenile court community treatment center program.

The university will evaluate expansion of the treatment center program and assist in development of an evidence-based screening tool, evaluate its effectiveness, provide an annual cumulative report and track recidivism for 24 months.

The agreement is funded through a $13,565 grant and runs from October 2 through September 30, 2023.

Other Business

In other business, the commissioners:

•Awarded publication of the delinquent land tax list to the Toledo Blade for a cost not to exceed $299,000. The Blade was the only publication to submit a bid.

•Accepted a grant award of $37,606 for the domestic violence high risk team for the Toledo/Lucas County Victim Witness Assistance program. The award requires a cash match of $12,535.

•Agreed to advertise for bids to upgrade jail doors for the corrections center. The engineer’s estimate of the cost is $510,000.

•Extended agreements for legal services and risk management services for the Lucas County 9-1-1 Regional Council of Governments.

•Amended an agreement with Matzak Inc. for the northwest pump station underground storage tank fuel system in Sylvania Township. The change order of $8,046 entails installation of a 2,000-gallon temporary fuel system.

•Accepted into the county system water supply lines for Land Air plat 2 in Swanton Township, and Rivertree and Waterside Sylvania plat 10 subdivisions in Sylvania Township.
