Springfield Local Schools remains committed to providing students with career exposure through the use of multimedia.
Over the past two years, funding secured through an Expanding Opportunities Grant has allowed the district to add two digital audio recorders providing students the ability to conduct remote (not in classroom/studio) interviews.
Students are trained to use this equipment to record actualities mainly for the high school’s recurring “This Week at SHS” program, highlighting school events for the community that air on 97.7fm, WNLBlp.
The segments are a popular feature for both students and Blue Devil Radio listeners; traditional, streaming and via a free app.
The audio-recording technology and additional work stations such as tables, chairs, new computers are being utilized to expose Springfield’s students to new experiences and careers.
