Glass City Marathon in April USATF sanctioned event

The USA Track and Field Association (USATF) has granted sanctioned status to the Mercy Health Glass City Marathon (GCM) for its 45th running on Sunday, April 24.

Sanctioning makes GCM a qualifying standards marathon for participants running to earn entry into the 2024 USATF Olympic Team Trials–marathon event.

This recognition will help bring world-class elite runners to Toledo in the spring.

The sanction is an official designation issued by USATF, through a local association, which approves and licenses the holding of a competitive track and field, long distance running or race walking event in the United States.

The USATF sanction improves the race’s public perception and lets athletes know that the event is being run according to applicable competition rules.
