Hawk Happenings
Last week’s Hawk Walk (won by our fifth grade classes) allowed parents (in an albeit limited capacity) to come “back to school.” If anyone is interested in volunteering for other events, may I suggest joining the Holland Parent Club Facebook group: HPC Holland Parent Council, to stay up to date on the volunteer requests and sign-ups.
Next up is the Trunk or Treat. We are so thankful for all that our parents do to support the needs of our students. You also can email HPC at hpcinform@ gmail.com.
Questions about Halloween
Just a reminder, there will not be classroom parties or costume parades.
However, teachers are encouraged to still have fun Halloween activities on November 1, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. If you are interested in helping, please reach out through Facebook or email them at the address shared above.
Parent Teacher Conferences
Holland families will be welcomed in-person this year (with social distancing and masks) for parentteacher conferences.
Conferences will take place on Monday, November 22, from 4:15 to 8:15 p.m., and Tuesday, November 23, from 12:30 to 3:45 p.m. Each classroom teacher will be scheduling conferences with parents (based on availability).
The Hawk Way
The Hawk Way is the name for our Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports framework (PBIS). Students share schoolwide expectations in the classroom, hallways, cafeteria, restroom, bus and playground.
These four expectations are as follows: be respectful, be responsible, be prepared and be safe.
The following students were selected as students of the week for showing Hawk Way core value of responsibility: kindergarten, (Dalton) Hunter; first grade, Kyah; second grade, Harper; third grade, Colton; fourth grade, Ethan, and fifth grade, Lyanah. Way to go friends.
Students receive tickets for following the Hawk Way. The tickets place their names into the pool for weekly, monthly and yearly drawings.
In addition to prizes, students also can use their tickets to purchase items from Mr. G’s Hawk Shop each month.
