SCHOOL NEWS
From the Desk of Principal Andy Evans It was nice having the students back in the building. There was a lot more positive energy and excitement than I anticipated, and the students continued working extremely hard for their teachers. The students will be off Monday, January 16, for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
We have a couple things scheduled this month, but they won’t involve every student. The first will be our CogAT and Iowa testing the week of January 23. On Friday, January 27, we will have our second character recognition breakfast to honor our most recent gamers of the week. More information is provided in this newsletter.
Have a great week.
Overdue Library Books Teachers will be sending home slips for overdue library books. Currently there are about 250 books on the overdue list, which is a lot for the size of the library. Unfortunately, if students do not return the overdue books, the next step is parent phone calls/emails/letters.
Parents, please encourage your students to return these items. Thank you for your help.
A Message from Mr. G.
Welcome back everyone. We hope the holidays were relaxing and enjoyable for you. As we return for the second half of the school year, I will be taking some time this month to focus on bucket filling and working with students on how teasing affects others. Reminder, if any student is in need of winter coats or shoes, please let me know. They are a little behind, so if you have already requested and have not received your items yet, please be patient. I plan to follow up this coming week with Newsboys.
