At the July 12 meeting, Holland village council approved three special assessments for lighting districts.
Property owners in the Holland Business Center lighting district will be assessed $1,881 for the year. Those in phases two and three will be assessed $1,386 and for property owners in Orchard Centre, the annual assessment will be $2,229.
In other business, council:
•Approved a request for an off-premises sign for Menards. Council president Ryan Spangler explained that the village planning commission had approved a lot split application for Modwash, which resulted in the existing Menards pole sign remaining on the new lot. He noted that a second sign for the car wash will be placed on the new lot as well.
•Renewed a contract for police in-car cameras and software with Watch Guard for $6,579. Council also renewed the police department’s policy maker software agreement with Lexipol for $6,014.
•Accepted the resignation of part-time police officer Aaron Wiese, effective June 27.
•Endorsed the appointment of a representative to the OneOhio Recovery Foundation region four board.
•Paid bills for July totaling $706,575.
