Home for the Holidays parade set for this Sunday, December 4

Area residents will celebrate the holiday season with the annual Perrysburg Home for the Holidays parade.

The parade will step off at 2 p.m., Sunday, December 4, with activities beginning at noon in downtown Perrysburg, and running through 2 p.m.,” said Rick Ruffner of O~Deer Diner, who, with his wife Dana, organize the annual parade.

Serving as grand marshals are Richard Baranowski, Gary Franks and Mark Weber, and carrying the banner to lead the parade are Boy Scouts Nick Fullencamp and Kaden Montross.

Santa Claus will visit with youngsters during pre-parade activities at O~Deer Diner, and children will be able to have a complimentary photo taken with the jolly old elf.

Other downtown activities include complimentary hot cocoa served by Walker Funeral Homes; cookies and coloring books at the Journal office; hot cider and kringle at Swigs; reindeer food at Julie Spann Johnson-State Farm; Poppin’ George’s kettlecorn stand; krabby patties at Perrysburgers; cider and donuts at Skotysky Financial, and chocolate covered pretzels at O~Deer Diner.

There also will a Christmas bean bag toss with a Buckeye treat and entertainment by Johnny Rodriguez on the Commodore lawn, trackless train ride and strolling carolers from noon to 2 p.m.

Following the parade at Way Public Library, the Perrysburg Chorale will hold a free concert, Songs of the Season at 3 p.m., with refreshments being served.

In addition, children will be able to drop off their letters to Santa in a special mailbox at O~Deer Diner.

Mr. Ruffner, expressed appreciation to the Taylor Automotive Family, which again this year is serving as presenting sponsor.
