HOOVES, a private, donor-supported charity, is hosting a family event from noon to 4 p.m., Saturday, August 26, at their facility, 4055 Wilkins Road, Swanton.
The family event features a free open house with a donation per vehicle encouraged.
There will be tours of the sanctuary, face painting, a popcorn stand and other activities. Visitors will meet the three amigos miniature horses and four mustangs– Genevieve, Gypsy, Kamali and Maverick.
A special VIP preview will be held from 10 a.m. to noon. The $25 cost includes early admittance and interacting with the mustangs.
Created by veterans for veterans, HOOVES is dedicated to providing fullyfunded, four-day, non-clinical healing intensives for veterans across the nation who are seeking recovery from service-connected stress. The intensives offer a safe and supportive environment where veterans can find healing, camaraderie and a renewed sense of purpose.
