HOOVES receives grant award

Patriot Project at HOOVES has been awarded the esteemed Katherine R. Smith Funds for Youth of the Waterville Community Foundation 2024 grant from the Greater Toledo Community Foundation.

The grant will play a pivotal role in supporting the organization’s mission to empower youth through the Patriot Project youth empowerment workshops.

It is a testament to Patriot Project's dedication to fostering positive growth and development in the youth of the Waterville community, said Katy Hubbard, HOOVES director of youth services.

The funds will enable the project to sponsor youth participants, providing them with invaluable opportunities for growth, learning and empowerment.

The workshops, scheduled for June and July, serve as a platform for young individuals to develop essential life skills, cultivate leadership abilities and build resilience. Through a series of interactive sessions and engaging activities, participants will gain confidence, self-awareness and a sense of purpose.

“We are incredibly honored to receive the Katherine R. Smith Funds for Youth grant from the Greater Toledo Community Foundation,” said Hubbard. “This grant will enable us to expand our reach and impact, providing deserving youth with the resources and support they need to thrive.”

She added, “The Patriot Project extends its gratitude to the Waterville Community Foundation and the Greater Toledo Community Foundation for their unwavering commitment to youth development. Together, we will continue to empower the next generation of leaders, change-makers, and patriots.”
