Input needed on TARTA survey for future services

Area residents are invited to provide their input on the future of TARTA, as part of the “TARTA Next” master planning process.

Andy Cole, communication and marketing manager for the bus service, said the focus of the survey is “what’s next for public transportation in northwest Ohio, and what will it mean for your commute and your community?”

“TARTA needs your feedback as it embarks on its first redesign project in decades,” he explained. “Take the TARTA Next survey through the end of April to give your opinion on proposed route maps and service scenarios.”

Throughout last year, the master planning process has gathered input from customers, community leaders and the general public at community meetings to evaluate existing transit services and develop a plan that will guide TARTA service over the coming years.

“This survey aims to collect feedback on two possible service plans with the goal of developing one service plan that will best fit the needs of the people and businesses in Lucas County and Rossford,” Mr. Cole said.

This summer, the TARTA board of trustees will consider an implementation schedule for changes to the transit system and expansion of services.

The TARTA Next plans are in addition to other service improvements TARTA has already put in place, including offering Sunday and holiday service, Mr. Cole said.
