A trunk or treat will be held on Saturday, October 14 at the former site of Libbey High School, 1250 Western Avenue, Toledo, from noon to 2 p.m.
The event, made possible by Lucas County Children Services (LCCS), Friends of LCCS and more than 50 community partners, will provide a safe, daytime trick or treat experience to local children and families.
More than 85 trunks will pass out candy along with a SWAT vehicle, fire engine and more.
The organization expects close to 2,500 children to attend. Candy will be passed out along with toothbrushes, hats, gloves and socks. The event is made possible through volunteer and donation efforts.
The mission of LCCS is to lead the community in the protection of children who are at risk of abuse and neglect.
The organization works with families, service providers and community members to assess risk and coordinate safe, stable and permanent families for children.
