Lucas Co. Retired Teachers to meet Tuesday, May 21

The Lucas County Retired Teachers will gather on Tuesday, May 21, at noon, at the Highland Meadows Golf Club, 7455 Erie Street, Sylvania. There is ample parking, and the building is handicapped accessible.

Julie McMaster, archivist, Toledo Museum of Art, will be the guest speaker at the May luncheon.

The TMA archivist preserves the historical memory of the institution by gathering pieces of history in papers, video, electronic record and objects.

Her talk will include mention of items from 1912 to the present, and collections from people with their stories of the art museum.

The community partner for May is Read for Literacy. The organization needs new books for all reading levels.

The luncheon entree choices are:

•Apple-cranberry chicken; apple-cranberry stuffing, sauced with apple brandy cream.

•Roasted pork loin served with apple brandy cream sauce.

•Ratatouille portobello; grilled portobello mushroom cap stuffed with ratatouille and topped with feta cream sauce.

Each entrée is served with a Betty’s side salad, California blend vegetables, roasted red skin potatoes, rolls with butter and dessert. There will be a coffee, tea and lemonade station. A cash bar will be available.
