LWV to hold hot button round table discussion May 29

League of Women Voters of Toledo-Lucas County will hold a hot button round table discussion on “Funding Education in Ohio—Where Are Your Tax Dollars Going?” It will be held Thursday, May 29, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Maumee Public Library, 501 River Road.

Panel members include Kristie Reighard, District 1 member of OH Board of Education, and Polly Taylor-Gerken, Toledo Public Schools Board of Education; with Phyllis Berman, League member and former educator, as moderator.

Topics for discussion will include: the closure of the U.S. Department of Education and the appropriation of state funds for public education.

This presentation is a part of the league’s general membership meeting. It is free, and the public is encouraged to attend.
