The 2022 Girl Scout cookie program began January 7, and northwest Ohio Girl Scouts have set their goals, made their business plans and will ask friends and neighbors to purchase their favorite cookies.
It’s consumers’ first opportunity to try Adventurefuls™, a brownie-inspired cookie with caramel-flavored crème and a hint of sea salt, with an incredible taste of adventure in every bite.
For the next few weeks, Girl Scouts will take individual orders and sell cookies through the digital cookie online platform for direct shipment or local delivery.
From February 18 through March 20, they will hold cookie booths at local businesses and drive-thru locations. Still facing challenges from the ongoing pandemic, girls are adapting their sales methods in creative, socially distant ways to keep themselves and their customers safe.
“Girl Scout cookies are a bright spot for so many people each year, and they lead to many adventures for girls all year long,” says Roni Luckenbill, CEO of Girl Scouts of Western Ohio. “Girls set their cookie goals with dreams of spending time at summer camp, going horseback riding for the first time, serving our community, and exploring the world with trips to museums or national parks.”
Every Girl Scout Cookie purchase fuels local adventures throughout the year. Through the Girl Scout Cookie Program, girls get a taste of being entrepreneurs and learn important online and offline business skills that set them up for success in life.
To support these young entrepreneurs, area residents may:
•Contact a Girl Scout they know personally and find out how she’s taking orders.
•Enter their email address at gswo.org/findcookies to receive notifications when local cookie booths open.
•Text COOKIES to 59618, or use the official Girl Scout Cookie Finder app– free on iOS or Android–to find cookie booths when they open in the area.
