Notre Dame Academy expands “Amazon Future Engineer” program into the Junior Academy

Notre Dame Academy (NDA) has expanded their “Amazon Future Engineer” program into the Junior Academy. For five years, NDA has partnered with Amazon to ensure its students have access to highcaliber computer science curriculum and coursework. NDA’s commitment to ensuring access to 21st century knowledge and skills for their students is underscored by the recent expansion of the program into its seventh and eighth grades. According to the school’s Principal, Andrea Zobler Zimmerman, “At a time when every industry in every state is impacted by advances in computer technology– we want to ensure that our students have every opportunity to understand how technology works, and to learn how to be creators, coders and makers. Whether a student aspires to be a software engineer or simply wants a foundational education to advance their aspirations, this is our chance to ensure all of our students have this access.”

Just like the high school computer science version, this class will cultivate 21st century skills in the fields of science, technology, engineering, art and math.

NDA, a Catholic preparatory school for young women, has been educating in the tradition, vision and principles of the Sisters of Notre Dame for 120 years. We empower students to be intellectually curious, passionately faith-filled and socially responsible servant leaders. For more information, visit nda.org.
