OHP issues 1,255 citations in distracted driving campaign

The Ohio Highway Patrol (OHP) joined forces with other members of the 6-State Trooper Project to focus on distracted driving enforcement. During the project, 1,255 people in Ohio were charged with distracted driving.

In addition to Ohio, the distracted driving enforcement effort included Indiana, Kentucky, Michigane, Pennsylvania and West Virginia state police departments. The initiative ran from April 1 to 8.

Collectively, troopers from the 6-State Trooper Project cited 1,895 people.

The multi-state law enforcement partnership is aimed at providing combined and coordinated law enforcement and security services in the areas of highway safety, criminal patrol and intelligence sharing.
