OHP releases results of six-state interdiction

The Ohio Highway Patrol joined forces recently with members of the Six-State Trooper Project to focus on criminal patrol and drug interdiction.

During the project, 55 individuals in Ohio were issued citations, including 46 for drugs and nine for illegal weapons.

The OHP enforcement effort included the Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Pennsylvania and West Virginia state police departments.

The initiative began March 7 and ran through March 11.

Collectively, the troopers issued 643 citations during the multi-state enforcement, including 554 for drugs and 89 for illegal weapons.

The project is a multi-state law enforcement partnership aimed at providing combined and coordinated law enforcement and security services in the areas of highway safety, criminal patrol and intelligence sharing.
