The Lucas Soil and Water Conservation District has partnered with Fender’s Fish Hatchery to offer new and established pond owners the chance to stock their ponds conveniently and at a low cost.
Anyone considering stocking their pond in the near future should take advantage of this opportunity.
Five types of fish fingerlings, ranging from one inch to six inches depending on species, are available through the sale for $1.08 or less.
The species include Largemouth Bass, Yellow Perch, Channel Catfish, Bluegill and Fathead Minnows.
Also available is Nature’s Pond conditioner, an all-natural solution to reduce pond muck and improve overall water quality. It is available in one- and five-gallon sizes. The deadline to place an order is Thursday, October 5.
The pick-up date is Thursday, October 12, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Lucas County Fairgrounds.
