For the second consecutive month, Lucas County’s outdoor warning siren test–typically held at noon the first Friday of each month–was canceled.
The county cited the extreme winter storm and frigid temperatures as the reason for the cancelation.
A spokesperson for the county said cold weather could cause the siren mechanisms to freeze, and if activated, damage may occur.
The next monthly siren test is scheduled for noon, March 4.
