Pond clinic set for September 20 in Toledo

The Lucas Soil and Water Conservation District will host a fall pond clinic on Tuesday, September 20, at 6 p.m., at Rotary Pavilion at Middlegrounds Metropark, 111 Ottawa Street, Toledo.

This event is for current and future pond owners or developers to learn about best management practices for creating and maintaining habitat, fish stocking, weed control, and other aspects of maintenance to increase the overall quality and enjoyment of the pond.

This year’s guest speaker is Don Schooner of Inspired by Nature, Inc., in Weston, Ohio. He will share all-natural pond management strategies and suggestions for those interested in using less chemicals, or none at all, to maintain their pond’s quality and habitat. There will be a question and answer time also.

The clinic is free of charge but pre-registration is appreciated by visiting LucasSW CD.org/pond-clinic or calling 419-893-1966.
