Registration is open for Northwest Ohio Teen Book Festival

Registration is free and open for the 2024 Northwest Ohio Teen Book Festival. The event will take place Saturday, March 9, at Rossford Junior/Senior High, 701 Superior Street.

The book fest is focused on the teens and tweens of northwest Ohio. It is a volunteer organization made up of lovers of literature, who come together to encourage a love of literature in teens and keep them reading by introducing them to authors and engaging them with thoughtful and fun discussions.

The all-day festival offers more than 30 curated sessions, speakers and authors, interactive activities, free lunch, book signings and a book sale featuring titles by the participating authors.

Attendees can meet romance authors Kristy Boyce, Eric Smith and Skye Quinlan in the hugs and kisses session; learn to create their own characters with cartoonist Scoot McMahon and author Brieanna Wilkoff; and discuss the art of creating suspense with Kit Frick, Mindee Arnett, Mindy McGinnis and Kelly Andrew.

The event features more than 25 authors including New York Times bestsellers, PhDs, Parents’ Choice Gold Award winner, MacDowell fellow, Golden Kite Award winner, literary agent, We Need Diverse Books winner, an American expat, Edgar Award winner and a Buckeye Book Award winner.

Registration includes access to the following:

•The keynote session with author and literary agent Eric Smith.

•Scavenger hunt with book prizes including advance reader copies of notyet- released titles.

•More than 30 curated sessions.

•The book store, open all day with books by participating authors and illustrators.

•Free lunch for all participants.

•Hunger Games-themed escape room designed by and for teens.

Bus sponsorships are available for schools interested in organizing a trip to the festival for their students. Sponsors and fund-raisers will help cover the cost of bussing students to the festival for the schools.
