Senior parking spaces get personalized

Springfield High School senior students leave their marks on our school in many ways. We get to see the growth happening in the academic lives as they work hard each day in our classrooms; fans, too, enjoy the school spirit and athleticism on display during sporting events. Yet, how many of us really have the chance to see these kids express themselves publicly through their art? We decided to give a few of our student drivers the opportunity to paint/personalize a parking space in the SHS student parking lot (for those unfamiliar with our layout, that’s the lot behind the tennis courts off of Hall Street).

Like most things nowadays, there is a cost to paint/personalize a parking space–but, it’s going to come back to them in the end. The chance to paint a parking spot is limited to the Class of 2023 seniors, and offered on a first come, first served basis. For a mere $25 donation (to our academic boosters) this fundraiser will raise dollars for the SHS Academic and Activity Boosters (which gets used towards Springfield High School students), plus it promises to promote school spirit.

Families already came out last Sunday, October 9, and had fun watching as students showed their Blue Devil spirit and class pride by painting on their own personal cement canvas. Another painting party will be held Sunday, October 16, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. What a great way to leave even a mark, albeit temporary, and all the while supporting their classmates.
