SHS softball to hold Easter egg hunt fund‐raising event

The Springfield High School softball team is taking a spring trip to Florida to compete against some of the best teams in the country “The trip will help us prepare for the upcoming league and tournament play,” said Head Coach Rob Gwozdz.

They need to raise $37,000 for the trip and have done several fund-raisers. The last major one is an Easter “Egg my Yard” event.

The night before Easter, players will go to homes that request it and scatter plastic eggs throughout their yards.

Eggs will be filled with candy and small toys. This fund-raiser will help parents with putting all the Easter stuff together and is a great surprise for children when they wake up Easter morning.

The team is taking orders now through Saturday, March 23, or until 5,000 eggs are sold.

The cost is $20 for 25 eggs; $40, 50 eggs; $70, 100 eggs and $100, 200 eggs.

Delivery will be done on Saturday evening, March 30, and continue into early morning Sunday, March 31, 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Delivery must be within a 12-mile radius of Springfield High School.
