On December 3, five Springfield students donated their time to help a neighbor in need of lawn work. Eric Fox, Jonah Vercellotti, Josh Sloan, Jacob Casper-Mayer and Connor Gilley assisted Barbara Levison, raking and bagging leaves in her yard.
“I was so impressed in how prepared they were to rake my leaves. They brought tarps, huge rakes, leaf blowers and bless Josh for coming over with his lawn equipment that sucked up all the leaves. My entire lawn is now spotless,” she said.
The teens also covered several round bushes with burlap to protect them through the winter. “They even proposed a much better way to secure the burlap,” she said, adding, “It would have taken me two to three times longer if I had to do it all myself.”
They completed the tasks by spreading several bags of landscape stone. “They are an amazing group of young men. They were punctual, courteous, committed to each task and completed each one without hesitation,” Ms. Levison said. Above Jonah, Jacob, Josh, Eric and Connor secure burlap around the bushes.
