Spring plant exchanges have returned this year, and two free plant giveaways will be held Saturday mornings– April 30 in Bowling Green and May 7 in Maumee.
The Bowling Green exchange will be at the Wood County Fairgrounds home and garden building, 13800 Poe Road, beginning at 8:30 am.
Guests can drop off their plant and garden paraphernalia donations, and a team of volunteers will organize them into a dozen categories to make selection easier.
Plants should be labeled and free of weeds. At 10 a.m., the giveaway area opens and continues until all plants are gone. Attendees will receive at least three free plants and more for those who donate plants.

Toledo’s plant exchange, which has been around since 2005, will be at the Lucas County Fairgrounds south entrance, 1403 Key Street, Maumee.
Donations will be received beginning at 8:30 a.m. when visitors can drop off their labeled plants, bushes, saplings and gently-used gardening paraphernalia. While volunteers sort the items, attendees can explore informational booths. Shopping runs from 10 to 11 a.m.
At the Toledo event, each attendee will receive five free plants, with more for those who bring plants to share.
