Springfield Local Schools kicked off the 2025-26 school year on August 13, with a dynamic all-staff orientation at the Springfield High School auditorium.
The event began with a high-energy opener from the SHS Blue Devil Drama Club, setting a spirited tone for the morning. Staff heard updates from the district’s new schoolbased health center partner and chief school health officer, Tiffany Ways, highlighting expanded health services available to students and staff this year.
The district also welcomed and celebrated its newest team members, and honored transportation driver Tim Lewallen for the exceptional character he demonstrated while transporting the SHS soccer team this past weekend.
Superintendent Matt Geha closed the program with a warm welcome to all staff and shared announcements for the exciting raffle prizes available to employees.
“This annual gathering is about more than just kicking off the school year, it’s about building momentum, recognizing the incredible people who make our schools thrive and celebrating the work we do together for students,” Geha said. Springfield Local Schools looks forward to a safe, successful and inspiring school year ahead.
