The Springfield Schools Foundation returned to Stone Oak Country Club July 31 for its 12th golf outing. Event chair and high school golf coach Brad Kerns opened the event with a nod to Scott Walsh for his guidance of the event over the previous 11 tournaments. This year, 20 teams of golfers helped raise nearly $18,000 that will be available to enrich the educational experiences for Springfield Schools’ students.
Golf outing sponsors were Scott Stigall State Farm, Evans, Beebe & Fields, Midwest Security, Renhill, Laibe, EnVision Lawn and Landscape, Mytee, Graf Family, Structured Wealth Management and the Springfield Education Association.
On-course challenges and opportunities included the chance for golfers to improve their chances off the tee by enlisting a member of the University of Toledo golf team in a “Buy Your Drive.” The winning team again this year was Scott Walsh, RJ Rajner, Joe Glass and Matt Gaynier with a score of 14 under par.
