Toledo Humane Society’s Tails Around Toledo welcomes members of the community to take adult shelter dogs on an adventure around the 419.
Participants can take a canine companion to visit a local park, on a drive, grab a yummy treat or two, or simply spend time together at home.
This provides a shelter dog a chance to relax and decompress outside of the kennel environment, it also gives residents the chance to spend time with a dog.
Outings provide valuable insight about the dog’s personality which can be used to help market them for adoption and make better adoption matches.

To register, read the Tails Around Toledo participant manual and release form, and complete the registration form. Once the registration is processed, participants will receive an email with additional information and access to schedule a trip.
Outings are offered Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Trips can last anywhere from two hours to the whole day.
