The Toledo Humane Society will host a Kitten Shower and other events to kick off kitten season at the shelter.
With the weather getting warmer, what is not to love about Spring? But spring brings with it kittens.
The humane society has many pregnant cats and orphaned kittens coming through its doors, each requiring specialized care.
To ensure mothers and their kittens are happy and healthy, the organization will host a Kitten Shower donation drive Sunday, April 24 through Sunday, May 1.
Items on the shelter’s kitten wish list include mini miracle nipples, digital kitchen scales, heating pads without automatic turn-off, snuggle discs, dry or soft mother and baby cat food, Purina Pro Plan kitten chicken and liver pate, Breeder’s Edge kitten milk replacement, poultry-flavored kitten food, thermometers and top-loading cat carriers.
The week will conclude with a Kitten Carnival on Sunday, May 1, from noon-2:30 p.m. The carnival will feature games, prizes, food and tours of the shelter.
Cruising Cuisine will be on hand, serving food in front of the shelter, which guests can bring inside and dine with kittens in a pop-up Cat Café.
