On April 21, Taylor Learning Center preschool, along with All Saints Lutheran Church, hosted their annual trike-a-thon fund-raiser for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Students came to the event with bikes and scooters and rode around an indoor track at All Saints in Toledo.
This is the fifth year the learning center has raised funds for the children at St. Jude.
Parents, grandparents and church members watched the event, and participated in the silent auction and raffle.
Lunch was donated from Subway, Marco’s. Chick-fil-A, Fairways and Mancino’s.
Raffle and silent action items also were donated. Teachers Miss Karen, Miss Julie and Miss Dakota expressed appreciation to everyone who came out to support St. Jude’s.
“We raised over $4,000,” said Karen Taylor, owner of the preschool. “I love watching their smiles as they pedal around the track. Some are just getting started learning to ride, and they did pretty well. Some of the children performed chores to raise money for St. Jude’s. This just warms my heart when I’m able to teach about compassion along with academics,” she added.
