The Victory Center is partnering with the American Red Cross of Northern Ohio for a blood drive on December 14.
The event will be held from noon to 5:45 p.m., at Elks Lodge 53, 3520 North Holland Sylvania Road, Toledo.
According to the Red Cross, patients fighting cancer need more blood than patients fighting any other disease, using nearly one-quarter of the nation’s blood supply.
“The need for blood in cancer treatments is an important and untold story,” said Gary Reedy, chief executive officer of the American Cancer Society.
Not only does the Victory Center offer services free-ofcharge to all cancer patients, the non-profit also features a monthly Blood cancer support group for those coping with diagnoses like Hodgkin’s lymphoma, leukemia and myeloma.
Individuals can honor loved ones who have lived with a cancer diagnosis by making a blood donation appointment on December 14. Donors who make a contribution to the American Red Cross between now and December 15 will earn a $10 Amazon Gift Card.
